Portraits

Creating a portrait is an opportunity for the artist to quietly contemplate the living essence of her subject, as well as creating a likeness. For the artist to see and feel the potential within each individual, a mysterious communication takes place between the artist and the model which resembles an act of love. If it succeeds, the work becomes alive. I have done over 100 portraits, working in terra-cotta, stone, bronze, wood and marble. Many have sold, many have been exhibited, and many still adorn my garden, studio, and home.
